About Us :

Why Photography?
I've always been fascinated by those who could, out of a piece of paper and pencil, create the most amazing images: landscapes, portraits, stories. I never could. My best attempts were tracing some shapes from drawings and magazines and try to put them together. They were comical at best.

I remember being about seven years old and holding a print my sister was making for her photography class.
It was big, like 11x14, of the door of a colonial building at night. There is something magical, reverential about holding
a large print, the way we only touch them by the edges. I want to recreate that feeling in others when they see my work.

Why "In Medias Res"?

That was Chris' idea. It's a literary term meaning "in the midst of things"; like starting a story in the middle of a battle,
as things are already happening. For us it means being where things are happening, ready to capture them.
We have a big advantage in that we are two completely different photographers (whereas the general practice is one
photographer and a backup or assistant whom have a similar style to or are students of the main photographer).
In our case, we can not only be at two different places at the same time but we can be at the same place
at the same time and capture a completely different aspect each.

We do most of our work in the beautiful and eclectic city of Austin Texas and its surrounding areas, but also enjoy traveling as much as we can, whether on assignment or for pleasure
